News Article

For my news article I read about police who in Corpus Cristi confiscated 400 plants of what they thought was marijuana. Turns out it was just a common horsemint plant. They were informed of the plant from a teen riding his bike through the park. The cops did not take the time to check and see if it was marijuana or not. They just took the plant away. It wasn't until they reached the station and tagged all of the plants and filed the paperwork that they discovered the plant wasn't marijuana.

I think this is really really funny. People are all up in arms about weed use in society today and I think they need to calm the eff down. I think that cops should be focused more on getting the hard drugs that are out there rather than something as simple as weed. I don't really think it's that bad of a problem but that's just me. I think cops have other issues that should be dealt with before going after the weed this much.

  2. I also think that they are worried about weed being used in are society and they are for getting about all of the other stuff thats out their. Weed is just a plant thats not harmful to your body but theres people out their doin crack and other durgs, but they are just focused on weed being used and not those. I think that they need to chill out about weed and focuse on the crime more with killings and stuff.

  3. That is so ridiculous that our taxes are paying for cops to do this kind of work. Seriously they couldn't send someone there that knew what a weed plant looked like. Instead hours are wasted sending probably at least two cars of cops out there and then writing up paperwork for something that wasn't even what they thought it was. What a waste.
